Linux 2.6.27

Ayer vió la luz el kernel 2.6.27 que tiene un montón de cambios, tantos que pueden aburrirse de leer el resumen, de modo que ahora viene con índice.

Esto muestra el cambio estructural que ha tenido nuestro kernel preferido.



Este último sera incluido en la version final de Ubuntu 8.10

Adiós gmail


En los últimos días he tenido mucho problemas a causa de gmail, despues de 4 años de ser beta están peor que windows, no sólo eso, sino que ahora con google chrome quieren monopolizar la web. Al empezar a usar gmail la gente me criticó por no ser libre, yo queria probarlo y ya lo probé. Espero que ahora estén contentos, porque de a poco iré abandonando todos sus servicios(gmail, google, blogspot).

Wikia Search, Una nueva forma libre de buscar

Wikia Search es un motor búsquedas libre basado en la retroalimentación de los usuarios, se basa en cuatro principios:

1. Transparencia: que el público sepa cómo operan los sistemas y algoritmos de búsqueda, ya sea con licencias de código abierto, como con contenidos abiertos + APIs.

2. Comunidad: cualquier persona puede colaborar de alguna forma (de forma individual o mediante una organización), con un fuerte acento social y comunitario.

3. Calidad: queremos mejorar significativamente la relevancia y exactitud de los resultados y la experiencia de búsqueda.

4. Privacidad: habrá una protección de los datos de identificación de los usuarios y de sus preferencias de búsqueda.

Leo recientemente que Foxconn atenta contra Linux saboteando sus acpi para que reporten datos erroneos en Linux impidiendo asi que se pueda suspender, reinicar, apagar por acpi.
